All around the world music is a well known and respected thing. Music has been and has become a normal part of every day life for a lot of people and cultures. Many people pay for music, but there are certain ways of getting songs for free.

Not all free songs are downloaded and uploaded legally, contrary to popular belief. In fact, many of the sites that offer these songs have not bought them with the rights of the owner. They are merely reproducing them illegally, and sometimes even selling them for their own profit.

You should use extreme caution when you try to acquire songs for free. The copyright laws of many countries are very strictly enforced. If a federal agency finds out that you have been downloading music illegally, no matter how much, you can be fined large amounts of money and even be thrown in prison.

If you are trying to download music that is free online then you should carefully read any disclaimer that the site or company has. Make sure that they have acquired rights to the music from the proper people and artists. They should have all of this in either their end user agreement or disclaimer notice.

Artists will occasionally make some of their songs free online and will give them out for free. When this happens it is okay to download them and even to distribute them. These artists will do this every once in a while to promote their music or to promote a cause or even to promote their new album.

There is not really that much legal music out there that can be found free. Music companies are focused on selling music and making money, so it would not make sense to be giving out free music all the time. There are still some places where getting songs for free is possible though.
